Mode of action: 
Heizungsgold OxxiDefend is a corrosion protection agent for iron, steel, copper and copper alloys. It is preferably used in systems where a low electrical conductivity of the circuit water is desired. These systems are usually filled with deionised water. Adding conventional corrosion protection agents would significantly increase the electrical conductivity of the water, which may be undesirable. In contrast, the use of Heizungsgold OxxiDefend in conjunction with deionised water results in only a very slight increase in electrical conductivity. The use of OxxiDefend in systems with aluminium-containing or galvanised materials is only recommended to a limited extent and with regular control of the pH value and the aluminium or zinc content in the water. 

Application: 
Heizungsgold OxxiDefend should always be used with fully demineralised water. If other water qualities, such as softened water or tap water, are used, the electrical conductivity already present in these waters must be taken into account and compliance with a pH value in the range of 8.5 to 9.5 must be ensured. Dosing is done by adding once to the filling or make-up water. 

Dosage: 
Heizungsgold OxxiDefend can be dosed into the make-up water either directly or from a diluted solution continuously with a dosing pump. The concentration of Heizungsgold OxxiDefend should be about 0.5 % (5 kg/m3) in closed systems. The electrical conductivity increases by approx. 105 μS/cm with this dosing quantity. The dosing system must be equipped to withstand corrosion. 

Analysis: 
Via ortho-phosphate determination. Target value in the circulation water: 15 ppm P2O5.
